The problem is I often hurt myself, and I can't go to the doctor cuz i was just there yesterday for an ear infection, I feel like I can not trust anyone in this matter, at least not any adult, because they will not understand

Mike tell your parents. They love you and they will probably handle it better than you think they will. No matter our age there are times in our life when we need help and you are asking for it right now.Your family Doctor can refer you to someone.Just go to your parents now and tell them you need to talk.

I've gotten into a bad habit. When someone feels depressed, I look for an event that would explain being upset. I guess I've forgotten what it's like to be 16. I know I was in pretty bad shape at that age. To begin with, everyone has to learn that feeling bad is part of life, and there's no good escape. There should be a public clinic that can offer counseling in your county. The counselor will not tell anybody. This is a vital tenet of professional counselors. Depression definitely should not be ignored when it's as acute as you describe. I don't know why you feel inclined to hide this from your parents, but I don't know the situation. If you believe that your parents love you, it would probably be better if they knew about the problem. I can't be sure. Remember, they were 16 years old at one time. You have to trust somebody. The most important thing is to be able to confide in someone.

depending on where you live you can see a doctor knowing what you say will be confidential, at sixteen in particular do you have your own medicare card or your own healthcare card, please go and get help though either way, maybe if you don't want to talk to your parents you could talk to another trusting adult through school or family friend. The most important thing is getting help with this.

You need to tell your parents. It is hereditary. I know. It took my mom a long time to deal with it. She almost committed suicide. She know takes medication as do me and both of my sisters. It is not something you want everyone(or anyone to know) but depression affects A LOT of people!! I can not tell you how many times I have tried to go "unmediated", it does not work! It sucks but that is the way it is. You will feel a lot better after you talk to a doctor. Please seek help.

well you should tell your parents, but if you really don;t think you can try talking to your school guidence councilor (just dont mention hurting someone else or yourself unless you really mean it... they dont play with that sort of thing) or even just a teacher you can confide in... just talking about it really helps...(it helped me) if it ever gets THAT bad pick up the phone and call 18007842433 there is someone there 24/7 to talk to you. Good luck

You should tell your parents. That's what they are there for, to help you and they will freak out more if you don't tell them and do something stupid related to the depression. Hang in there, it will be ok.

depression is a serious medical condition. yes you do need to see a doc ASAP. dont tell your parents you are depressed, just that you dont feel well and you need to see the doc. when you get there to back to see the doc alone and ask him if he will talk to your parents about it for you.

i have suffered from depression for years. its amazing how much better you will feel after you get meds. you need to go to the doc soon! good luck!
