Are BB guns legal in Jersey City, NJ?

I would guess that ..... BB guns are legal to own WITH a permit. But, I will also guess that it is illegal to discharge or fire a BB gun in Jersey City.

I think it would be pretty safe to assume if you walk anywhere in public with anything that looks like a rifle or gun in full view, you're going to have problems. Even if you can own a BB gun, likely, you still may not have it out in public view, it would have to be encased and encased is the magic word here. For transport in a vehicle it would have to be encased and it's safest in the truck. You can get charged with concealing a weapon if it isn't properly cased, and hidden from view.
