When u install a program, a registry file is created for the program which contains data of the installed program, the registry file will know that the program is installed on ur comp. If u try to install the same program again, the registry will prompt u that the program has been installed. If u just delete the folder then the registry and setting files will not be removed, and u will not be able to install the program again on ur comp. If u delete the folder without uninstalling the program, your registry will be full of junk,

Uninstalling a program means deleting the program and its sub-components. It also removes the program from the registry where the program really is stored. Deleting a folder is just deleting a file on your computer. It will also destroy the registry on your computer and somehow can create trouble.

Going to Add/Remove Programs removes references to the program in the Window's registry. It is also a "safer" method of removing programs from your computer, although it is not always perfect. Programs that have messed up uninstallation programs can be removed by deleting the folder as that is the only way to remove it.

Deleting the files isn't good for the computer. It will still be recorded in the registry of the computer. when you uninstall it, it changes the registry and removes the files as well as all connected files outside the folder in C:\Program Files. you really don't want to delete the folder manually.

Uninstalling a program removes it, most of its' associated library files and registry entries. This makes the machine clean, not trying to use any part of it. To delete the program obviously does not do any of the rest. Registry entries and library files left behind can still try to run the program, or parts of it. This can actually leave the machine very unstable.

Do not delete program files!! Doing this also removes things your PC needs that are connected to that file. Always go to add/remove programs to uninstall programs.

Most programs install files in folders other than their own (like the windows folder). These won't be deleted if you just delete the program folder

uninstalling deletes the registry files along with additional files
so the system doesn't rely on it anymore
