What's it about?
Who or what inspires you?

I really don't know how.

I want to write a poem,
but I don't know how.
I could put the moment off,
or start on it right now.

But where would I begin - MY GOD!
I don't know where to start.
I can feel a racing, beating vibe,
coming from my heart.

I'd like to write a poem
And one that doesn't rhyme
But it's harder than I realised
I'm failing all the time

Should I write with feeling?,
or have no themes at all?
Should my poem be short and thin?,
or very long and tall?

When will I know to finish?,
When will I know to end?
I guess I could just stop right now,
I guess it will depend.

On if you've got your point across.
But what if there was none?
You'd never know how far you've got,
unless you just begun.

Perhaps I should stop writing now,
because I just found out.
That this has been a silly poem,
written without a doubt.

When it comes to choose best answer,
I hope its plain to see.
There are other poets on this site
but give the 10 points to me!

I write poetry. It's mostly about me and how I'm feeling at a given time. My family inspires me a lot, I have also been inspired by real events in the news eg - Steve Irwin's death and the Boxing Day Tsunami. I have them posted at YourPoetryDotCom and my user name there is OzChick. Check it out and leave me some comments, you have to join first but it is free.

Yes I do . I useually write about coming out of the dark and becoming the sun that brings life that sort of thing . Poetry is more like life anyway. All though I am good but not that good.

My poetry is about anything and everything. Basically, my inspirations are events in my life. However, there are times when my imagination gets a little twisted. There are 3 short poems on my website, if you would like to check them out.

I do...all the time

One is about a cockerel that gets the power of speech for the length of one dawn. He doesn't use this great power to speak great things, to philosophise or to give good advice, but he uses it to complain about his lot in life.

Another one uses alliteration to describe a disparate group with quirky personalities and unusual habits.

I really enjoy writing. It's great to be able to put my thoughts down on paper.

I am inspired by many things. Mostly though, I just use my imagination.

No, but my husband does. He's written about me, our daughters, nature. He's a huge e.e.cummings fan.
I'm a novelist, have 3 unpublished works and am on a fourth now. Random things in life inspire me, my novels are mostly "coming of age" works.

I write more of poetic short stories, a couple pages at most in very rythmic, flowery prose. I'm horrible at real poems themselves, since to me poems equal some sort of structure, even if that means having no structure. My writing usually has some metafictional element in it, since that's how my ideas are best written out.

Yeah, but it's dark poetry. About what goes through my mind when I'm feeling down. Very therapeutic. None of that happy stuff though. Maybe one day....
