As early as I can remember there was a yearning in me, a calling for something more, greater than myself. I became very ill at the age of six and actually passed away. I remember everything and I am grateful for that little glimpse of the other side. It has formed my way of thinking and the way I life my life.

Now you know what causes thunder and lightning (cold and hot air friction), has it changed your views on God? Or do you still suffer from the same ignorance?
The idea that your sense of "right and wrong" is divinely inspired is despicable to me. Every moral human being would know that harassing a child is wrong. God has nothing to do with that.

I always had a love hate relationship with this unknowable Entity. My parents forced me to go to church as a child so everytime something bad happened I 'knew' it was god. Now I don't believe in this god anymore and ironically, less bad things happen to me now since i take responsibility for the outcome of things. I discontinued gods contract, I fired him for incompetence.
...the best thing i have ever done.
There is a bigger God i believe i now, it seeks no worship and is neither good or evil.

I felt from day one that it was a load of bullpucky. The godbots made claims and promises but could never deliver when challenged. What good is a belief system that doesn't produce results now? And there's not a shred of proof after you die that is wasn't a load of cobblers that gullible morons wasted their energy on.

Fear. Awe. Love. Respect.
I always felt as if He was listening. I said my prayers every night (still do). I always had "not disappointing God" in the back of my mind. Disappointing mom and dad was bad enough....but God?? I guess it was more fear then.
I came to "awe, love and respect" later in life.

That I could never be good enough, but that he loved me, that everything that seemed fun was wrong, that everything that was God's idea of fun was boring, and that if I didn't get with the program, he would be mad at me.

About the same as my feeling about Santa Claus. Kids that young really don't understand the concept.
