Could be as simple as using too many pillows. You definitely have something compressing the brachial plexus as you sleep. May want to try rolling a small pillow or towel and placing it under your neck when you sleep. If pillows are not the problem, then you are developing a chronic cervical problem and it should be attended to.

I also have this problem but it comes and goes. I have carpal tunnel syndrome which usually causes numbness is the fingers and hands , not the entire arm, so I have not found a definitive answer for this either. I feel. in my case , that it is due to some sort of nerve impingement originating in the cervical area. The only thing that has helped me is chiropractic adjustments, especially in the neck area.I find that a good and complete chiropractic adjustment improves the problem immediately, but has not totally eradicated it, most likely because the the adjustment does not last and needs to be repeated. For the carpal tunnel syndrome, I found that wearing hand splints at night helped also. They are called cock-up splints and are available in some drugstores.

it could be bad blood flow. that`s what my hand`s do. the doctor told me it was lack of blood flow. go get your blood checked for safety. you might think about waking up a few time`s a night and move them around a little bit.

Mine do that also , maybe its because we slept on them and moved and woke up? I hate that feeling though it almost hurts.

I'm not sure but you should defiantly see a Doctor about it so they can conduct a sleep study.
