my cousin recently fell from a disco-tech from four stories...
he is now brain damaged, and is doing pretty good.though he acts like a kid....... if anyone here knows how high you need to be to die if you fell from any angle? or if you all have some links.
i would really like to write a paper about this

I have seen patients survive falls from 30 feet and higher. The most devastating falls are usualy from the first floor, like a garage roof, because you land on your head. 2nd storey,on your rump. 3rd face down (ouch) 4th ?

It's true, you can die from tripping and falling, if you landed on something, or if you hit your head just right, or you could fall from a tremendous height and live to tell the tale (as an example, a woman fell out of an airplane at 20-something-thousand feet and lived).
It's not the height at all. It's how you land, what part of your body you land on, and how you twist when you do hit. As they say in the parachuting business, it's not the fall that will kill you, it's the rapid deceleration at the end...

I fell 12" 6" from a building I was working on to frozen ground (carpenter) and landed on my feet. I crushed both heels messed up my ankles, knees, hips and lower back. My surgeon told me that anything over 10" will kill you if you land wrong and that 15" and up usually dose. Your cous' is very lucky to be alive. The mental state he's in will come to pass. Be good and GOD bless you both.

You don't have to fall far if you fall on your head, the damage can be severe.
I don't have any links. So sad about your cousin, hope he improves.
