Believe nothing.
“It is much easier to believe that it's snowing, than to experience the snow. If you just believe, you can stay inside, stay warm and avoid the cold. That's why people are led up the garden path by others beliefs. It's easier and warmer. And all this 'believing stuff' starts in kindergarten. In the context of your spiritual or personal growth, believe nothing, experiment and test everything, in the laboratory of your own experience. Only then will you be able to separate truth from falsehood, reality from illusion, and lead others with integrity. Challenge and check at least one belief everyday. And if it's found wanting, chuck it or change it. Challenge, check, then chuck or change, now that's a master at work.”

Question all your assumptions. Questioning leads us to greater understanding because it is the product of an examined life. Do not follow others blindly. Do not hold onto old ideas because they are comfortable or popular. Put everything through the lens of yourself to make sense of the world.

Very correct, yet when we look at the universe, the stars,
the peaceful side of existence and all people are truly equal
in their beliefs is there not an understanding that time and truth
is in the hands of the world's greater intellects. Perhaps more
people should think of ideals, fantasies, and creation that it is
empowerment that is available and we could actually walk the
path of great stars that walked in early , ancient professions.

i tell you that the water in my backyard pool is cold? do you "believe" me, or do you test it for yourself to see if i'm being false? would you rather avoid the shocking feeling of the cold water on your warm skin than find out the truth for yourself. it's saying, "just because you're told something, doesn't make it so, and you should find out if infact it is." it's a rather simple concept most christians don't believe in because in order to be one, they must "believe" what they're told unquestioningly. to quote one of my favorite movies "it's better to have ideas because you can change an idea, changing a belief is trickier." people tend to die for their beliefs, or kill in the name of them. an idea, on the other hand, well, you can chuck it out the window if you decide it doesn't fit. try mulling over that one.

I think there are some major flaws with this theory
yes you sould do research to prove something, but if nothing can be proven eather way it is often good to have beliefs.
If you don't beleive in anything you cannot see you are very narrowminded indeed.

You can't believe nothing. You can believe IN nothing. But that just means you believe nothingness exists.

The general idea is "believe nothing without proof." Proof doesn't exist, but evidence does. So believe that evidence is useful, but don't believe it, just go with it. Hooray Occam's Razor.
