Did it have any curl of wave, or was it just straight with no frizz?

It depends on how curly your hair is. When I straighten hair I don't try to get it perfectly straight the first time, but close to it. Overlapping the straightener is the problem with breakage, so the second time the ends get straighter. I prefer the Sodium Hydroxide straightener and never mix other types. So find a good stylist and keep going to them. Kinky curly hair gets frizzy straight and needs to be hot pressed or flat ironed after every shampoo. Most people still have to use a flat iron to get it shiny, smooth and straight. It just takes them less time to do it and it lasts longer.
