Birth to Two Weeks: Neonatal Period

Puppy is most influenced by his mother.

Senses of touch and taste are present at birth.

Two to Four Weeks: Transitional Period

Puppy is most influenced by his mother and littermates.

Eyes open, teeth begin to come in, and senses of hearing and smell develop.

Puppy begins to stand, walk a little, wag tail, and bark.

By the fourth or fifth week, eyesight is well-developed

Three to Twelve Weeks: Socialization Period
During this period, puppy needs opportunities to meet other dogs and people.

By three to five weeks, puppy becomes aware of his surroundings, companions (both canine and human), and relationships, including play.

By four to six weeks, puppy is most influenced by littermates and is learning about being a dog.

From four to twelve weeks, puppy remains influenced by littermates and is also influenced by people. Puppy learns to play, develops social skills, learns the inhibited bite, explores social structure/ranking, and improves physical coordination.

By five to seven weeks, puppy develops curiosity and explores new experiences. Puppy needs positive "people" experiences during this time.

By seven to nine weeks, puppy is refining his physical skills and coordination, and can begin to be housetrained. Puppy has full use of senses.

By eight to ten weeks, puppy experiences real fear involving normal objects and experiences; puppy needs positive training during this time.

By nine to twelve weeks, puppy is refining reactions, developing social skills with littermates (appropriate interactions), and exploring the environment and objects. Puppy begins to focus on people; this is a good time to begin training.

Three to Six Months: Ranking Period
Puppy is most influenced by "playmates," which may now include those of other species.

Puppy begins to see and use ranking (dominance and submission) within the household (the puppy's "pack"), including humans.

Puppy begins teething (and associated chewing).

At four months of age, puppy experiences another fear stage.

Six to Eighteen Months: Adolescence
Puppy is most influenced by human and dog "pack" members.

At seven to nine months, puppy goes through a second chewing phase, part of exploring territory.

Puppy increases exploration of dominance, including challenging humans.

If not spayed or neutered, puppy experiences beginnings of sexual behavior.

They should start crawling around any day now, I'm actually surprised they haven't yet! Once their eyes open and they begin to focus more, eyes should be opeing anytime between now and the next week, they will begin to walk around more. Barking all depends on the puppy's personality. The litter my puppy came from al had their eyes open by 2 weeks old, were crawling around, and a few of them were barking already.... well squeaking a bark. lol Over the 2 weeks time, all were walking, crawling out of the plastic pool they were kept in (in the house of course), and barking up a storm playing with each other.

As they approach 2.5 to 3 weeks old they start to "toddle" around. By that I meant they push up off the ground as they crawl but are very unsteady on their feet. By 4 weeks they should be walking better and are getting more coordinated.

As for barking, it depends on the personalities of the puppies. Some may bark fairly early (like within a few days from now), others won't bark until later. You should be hearing the the beginnings of growls about now too. Just wait, at about 3 week they realize the other puppies aren't just fuzzy hot water bottles to keep warm on, they figure out that they can play with the other puppies (and mom too). It's really neat to see the beginnings of play. That's when you'll hear more growling (play growling and growling to tell the other pups off) and maybe some barking too as they bark at one another.

At 3 weeks (as they are starting to walk) you should set up a seperate potty area for them to crawl to as they are able to go potty on their own now.

Your domestic dog is twiddling with you and testing you out. His growling and barking is twiddling with you, he thinks what you're doing is a activity and he would not take you heavily. you may want before everything some hardship-unfastened training, like sit down, down and fetch. have you ever enrolled in a domestic dog pre college classification? those instructions are useful for social interplay with different puppies of a similar age and coaching to the vendors on a thank you to coach their domestic dog. I definitely have a e book observed as 'each domestic dog,' desirable puppy or desirable Pest? by utilising Eric Allan, it relatively is helpful for be attentive to-how and coaching your new domestic dog.

They will start walking at three weeks. They will not run around very well yet however. They will make noises at the time of birth. Barking will come around three weeks also.

Are these puppies that you have bought or recieved or do you have the mother? If your dog had these puppies, you should have informed yourself with this and much much more information before she even had puppies!! The puppies and the mother can die during pregancy and birth.

And if someone has given you these puppies, they aren't suppose to be away from their mother until they're eight to ten weeks old!!!!!!!!!
