I stopped eating flour and sugar (and any foods that contain either) on Oct. 1st. The first week is the WORST. After that you lose a taste for it. Since then I have lost SIX pant sizes!! I don't work out yet, I want to lose more weight so I don't die of a heart attack. I don't weigh myself to keep moral up. I can get obessive about it and weigh myself 3 or 4 times a day.....not good. Then I feel like I'm not losing. This way I can tell when I need to buy new clothes. And who doesn't love buying new clothes. The hardest part is planning to eat. You can drive thru McDonalds - but get a salad. Burger King - you can get any burger and they will lo carb it for you with no bread. It's amazing how much junk we consume in a day.
If you eat just fruits & vegetables of course you will lose weight. You will also be bored to death and find a pint of chunky monkey in your hand at 3am one morning because you just can't take it anymore. You would be amazed at what I eat and still lose weight. I can have four hot dogs with chedder cheese. Just no bread. Then I will have a salad or a vegetable.
Grape-nuts is the only cereal I can have. I usually put raisins or bannanas in it, otherwise it's kind of like eating gravel. Any meat is ok. Any vegetable is ok. And any fruit is ok. Mayo and ketchup is ok. Cheese is ok. Salad dressings are ok.
That is my diet, and it appears to be working. It's not for everyone. My best friend - who considers herself fat...lol...apparently a size six is fat? I wasn't a size six when I was six, but whatever. She can go all day and just eat an apple. Sometimes she starts shaking because she's so hungary. Ya, um.... that's not me. I have to eat! My downfall is chocolate. So I allow myself to have it, but limit myself to diabetic sugarfree chocolate. It doesn't taste that good, but works for the moment. And sugar free pudding.........hope this helps! Good luck.

First it is not so much the food but how it is prepared. Avoid all sauces and foods that may be fattening. I do suggest you eat balanced meals though as a starvation diet will tell your body to start storing fat. You can defeat the purpose of dieting. Take vitamins and get some exercise too. I am sure there are things you are cutting out of your diet that you are going to miss so this is what I recommend. Example: If your favorite thing is chips or candy bars then only have one a week on the candy. Cut it into 4 and have one piece every other day. If it is chips then have about 10 chips but no more then twice a week. The idea here is to do everything in moderation. I hope this works for you.

You'll also lose all your muscle if you don't eat some protein. Check out the Mayo Clinic's website, for a great plan on eating. It's not a diet, just a recommended way to get all you need to be healthy. I've lost 17 lbs in 12 weeks, and I feel better and it's been very easy to follow.

If you are serious about losing weight, the calories
in the food you eat should be less than the
energy you use. You will have to increase your
metabolic rate and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will
lose weight faster. More details available at

Just eating fruist and veggies u won't get any protien. You would at least need nuts, maybe some soy and tofu. You need a balance. Meat is good for you in moderation as is almost everything. Starving yourself is not healthy. Just eat good foods regularly and excercise everyday and your energy will increase along with your metabolism.... it will all go hand-in-hand with your lifestyle and what u do everyday.

If you eat the right meats in the right portions, it will be healthier than going without. Follow a proper diet program, and compliment it with an excercise AND weight (resistance) regimen, and you will see results.

Maybe, if you can do that, but I think its a good idea to at least
eat eggs and seafood. Bread and butter seems to be a big
obstacle to me for weight loss and I cant seem to stay off of it.

You don't really need it, but it would be a lot better for your overall health if you kept meat in your diet.
Balance out meat and fruits/veggies.
