Do you guys think The Rolling Stone's song Sympathy For The Devil is satanic? I heard a remix of the song today and the lyrics just wreak evil and Satanism. Do any of you agree?

Actually, (almost lost) ummm, I am a married, 22 year old pregnant woman, sweetie. I hardly think that puts me in the category of being a "child". And I don't really value your opinion of me.

how can a song that gives a history lesson be satanic? i think you're reading way to far into it. look at it this way: yes, he's singing from what he believes is the devil's point of view (hence the word "sympathy"), but that doesn't necessarily mean he is sympathetic to the devil's work. he's making a political statement about how much evil, how much senseless killing is in the world. i think he's trying to remind us of the things we should watch out for in our government and societies.

Sympathy for the devil by utilising the Stones yet I very just about suggested Runnin With The devil. devil Went all the way down to Georgia is an incredible Charlie Daniels and the devil With The Blue gown is a real classic. not a foul music in the bunch.

The song is a work of fiction, like the movie "The Advocate." Just because the subject matter is about the character called Satan doesn't mean they actually believe in it. The only thing they believe in is sex drugs and rock&roll which I guess some people would say is Satanic.

Evil? No. Just a simple recitation of human history in the form of a cool song.

And to Annie, thank you. In all the years that song has been out, that's the first time I've actually been able to know what the **** he's SAYING!
LOL.

Nope. I don't think it's satanic. I think it reminds us that whatever we choose to support, there's always another perspective.

I think the song was inspired by a quote; something like: "I have sympathy for the devil; it must be noted that God has written all the books." I believe it is meant to be 'tongue in cheek'... kind of a reminder to try to see all sides of any given situation.

Yes it is demonic. As is the Gospel of Judas and the Mary Magdalene stuff about her being married to Jesus.

You already know the answer according to yourself so why ask? Why are all Christians like this? It's just a song, and one of my favorites at that.

"Sympathy For The Devil" - The Rolling Stones

Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

I stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the tsar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain

I rode a tank
Held a general's rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah

I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made

I shouted out,
"Who killed the Kennedys?"
When after all
It was you and me

Let me please introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reach Bombay

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's confusing you
Is just the nature of my game

Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint

So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I'll lay your soul to waste, um yeah

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, um yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, um mean it, get down

Woo, who
Oh yeah, get on down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah!

Tell me baby, what's my name
Tell me honey, can ya guess my name
Tell me baby, what's my name
I tell you one time, you're to blame

Oh, who
woo, woo
Woo, who
Woo, woo
Woo, who, who
Woo, who, who
Oh, yeah

What's my name
Tell me, baby, what's my name
Tell me, sweetie, what's my name
