what does fiber do actually because teacher last year said it was hard to get and extremly important.

prunes and figs are high in fibre and pottassium. It's very important to eat high fibre foods because they wash out all the waste from your body, thus enabling weight loss and also, the toxins get flushed out of your system. Fibre also keeps you feeling full.

fiber is never actually digested, it moves through the intestine and then goes out, it's not a nutrient.

It is however, important for lower GI health, as it improves motility through the intestines, helps block absorption of cholesterol, and also is key in helping to lower risk for certain diseases, like colon cancer.
