to keep your “cyber friends” in your "cyber world?"

What safety guidelines would you follow?

been there done that

In my opinion you find liars here just the same that you find liars on the street (in the real world).

You have to not just trust but listen closely to your instincts, a person that sounds too good to be true probably is. Someone already said that you have to wait to get to know them very, very, very well and then wait some more, LOL! Okay so it doesn't have to take forever just until you are sure.

Just like with anything else don't let someone else pressure you into doing something you are not comfortable with.

If you do meet someone I would advice to meet them in a public place and be specific about "the date". Also the more friends and family that know about it the better.

Good luck!

Only if I found out that this "cyber friend" was someone I knew personally. I'm ashamed to admit that I've suspected a couple of guys here of being the guy I'm currently eyeing.

I wouldn't be meeting anyone from here - but I've met lots of people in person whom I got to know online first, both as dates and as friends. I just follow general common-sense safety guidelines for meeting people for the first time, and then follow my gut.

It depends... if I got along well the person, I would meet them. Chances are, it would be with a woman, so I would suggest our first meeting would be in a public place, like a bar or cafe, so that she would feel safer.
