EEEUUWWWW! LOL My dog eats her own crap... but that's fairly normal (a lot of dogs do it). I've never seen one slurp it's own pee though! LOL
I imagine he'll grow out of it... but I'd try to start teaching him the "leave it" command (it's probably the most important command you could teach your dog - it can be used if they try to pick up a nasty object from wherever or if they try to sniff people or chase something too). My dogs were all adults when I got them (rescue) so they already had their bad habits. It's much easier to correct something like that if it's done early. Good luck!

I'm still trying to figure out how he does that!!? I assume he is licking up where he peed? Anyway, never seen that one.
use the "leave it" command and take to the water bowl. Is this happening in the house? Kinda hard to lick up off grass/dirt. May be trying to hide his "accident". If not housetrained then work a little harder on that. Perhaps a little longer outside to play and go. Lots of praise/treat when he does. Younger pups need time to explore, play and go several times. They should not be rushed and back inside.
Make sure fresh water all the time and food as pups eat and drink a lot. Be consistant with the command. I've never done the "put the nose in it" tactic and I've trained 100s over the years. A light tap to the nose with the "leave it " command is ok if really stubborn. That is a LIGHT tap only. And lots of excited praise when he does it outside. Dogs want to please us. They have to know what we want of them. It's that simple.
If it does continue to be a issue then I would consult the vet in case there is a medical cause such as a diet deficiency.

Im sure he will. If he doesnt maybe you should consider training him....get a book about training a puppy and read up about it. Puppies are like babies, they dont know what is good/bad for them, so the 'parent' has to tell them

Whenever he does that, hit him softly on his nose and say no and direct him towards the cup containing water.

yes it will but it takes a while you might even want to tap it on the nose and say NO in a firm voice to get it to stop.
