I agree with Pam wholeheartedly. Having lived in Los Angeles for 10 years and my career was singing - and some acting, I found that living in and around the Hollywood area was best suited for quick travel and meetings. Many of the clubs (comedy and other) are located in Hollywoord area. My friends and I would walk Hollywood Blvd and hit as much as we could. In the daylight hours, the studios and record companies were at my disposal. I will never forget the night I met a Motown Executive - I was going into one of the eateries on Hollywood Blvd and just happened to be singing one of the old Motown hits - he heard me and was impressed! Gave me his card and asked me to come to the studios the next day - Believe me - it was worth it. And just to provide some encouragement - it can happen to you - however, I'd be as prepared as possible. You have to have your 'stuff' together and be ready to sing, dance, act on que. I eventually moved to Pacific Palisades (when the money got better) and living by the ocean was extremely nice! Best wishes to you.

The best area is the one you can afford, and you didn't really tell us that. It doesn't really matter where you live as long as it's not too far out, it matter what you do once you live here. Obviously some areas are nicer, but they also cost more.

And a nicer apartment is not going to help your career. Compton , for example, it not a good place to love, but I hear a lot of musicians come straight outta there.

It really depends on your budget and where you are planning on getting a job.

There are two sides of town....the Valley and L.A (west side).....The valley has reasonable housing (i.e., North Hollywood, Valley Village, Burbank, Glendale) The westside (i.e., Westwood, Beverly Hills, Century City, Santa Monica, Venice, Brentwood..etc.) has a few place but mostly expensive. It really depends on what you are looking for.

You should come for visit and scope around the cities.

the people with weapons in la are the criminals. they simply be attentive to ways use their weapons for rigidity-by utilising's. The animal coyotes (not the unlawful alien smugglers) have adapted to people by utilising eating the rubbish and pets. With "dinner" being positioned outdoors each night to bypass capture mice, why circulate to a clean zip code?

Studio City, (where I live)

and Burbank, sing at dimples, right by NBC Studios, where Jay Leno's show is taped daily, you never know, you just might get discovered, lol.

Hollywood or Studio City. But please make sure you have a job that pays decently while you try to get a contract/role.
