Oh, my dear! You have just entered the Yo-Yo syndrome.

I have dieted on and off for many years and this is what I have learned: do not, I repeat, do not deny yourself anything. BUT, you must be prepared to have a little taste of something. I think that diets are bad because no matter how good they are, you will always be deprived of something.

When we are deprived, we wind up eating twice as much for a longer period of time than if we had allowed ourselves a little taste. Once you have that taste, you'll be satisfied because you will have another opportunity to taste something good in the next week or month. Denial is a dieter's worst enemy.

Drink lots of water and eat fresh fruit and veggies. Just ask yourself how you're going to manage your weight when you get to goal.

All my life I've heard, "moderation," and now I know that that word is really important. That and small portions.

Remember: diets do not work. Food plans work.
