I am trying to think of a name for my band. We are a Christian all-girl band and we are performing for my youth group and a conference in January. My first idea was to translate a word into an ancient language. I wanted to use hebrew or latin, but I can't find a good online translator. the words I specifically wanted to translate are: faith, hope, cross, religion, and lost. if you know of any good tranlation sites, can give me the translated words, or have any other ideas for a band name, it'd be awesome! thanks!

I don't speak Latin, but I can help with the Hebrew words:
*Faith- emunah (e-mu-nA). plural: emunot (e-mu-nOt)
*Hope- tikvah (tik-vA). plural: tikvot (tik-vOt)
*Cross- tzlav. plural: tzlavim (tzla-vEEm)
*Religion- dat. plural: datot (dat-Ot)
*Lost (female form)- avudah (a-vu-dA). plural: avudot (a-vu-dOt).
*Salvation- ge'ulah (ge-u-lA). plural: ge'ulot (ge-u-lOt)/ yeshu'ah (ye-shu-Ah). plural: yeshu'ot (ye-shu-Ot).
*Treaty (and also- Testament, as in "New Testament")- brit. plural: britot (bri-tOt).
*Repentance- tshuvah (t-shu-vAa). plural: tshuvot (t-shu-vOt).
"The" in Hebrew is "ha", so "the faith", for example, is "HaEmunah", or "the losts ones" is "Ha'Avudot".

hmmm not jewish but you want to use jewish/hebrew names...that is called "rapprochement" --as for your bands name "mazal" is a good name --it means luck...in hebrew...mazal tov is good luck...but u need luck only....hope it helps.
try also arameic words..that is ancient...before hebrew..good of you to cover the whole history...what kind of a music band is this?
since you talk about "lost" -- noah would be good..he was lost in his boat on the top ararat...that is the mountain name...in turkey...now you have enough words...to digest ..let's hear the music...
