He seems to sleep a lot, is this normal or could he be sick?

hfr96, hey genus if i knew a lot about puppies I wouldn't use this thing called yanswer for, yeah answer. bite me.

It is normal he is still a puppy.

Puppies do sleep a lot but puppies can get sick quickly also. If he sleeps and plays that is normal but if all he does is sleep that is not normal. Puppies do 4 things. Eat, sleep, play and potty. That is their life. Keep an eye on his poop if it gets too soft or gets softer than it is now than get him to the vet quick. Puppies can die from dehydration in days. If there is any doubt at all please take him to the vet, better safe than sorry.

Dogs sleep about 18 hours per day. Puppies even more. Have it checked if it's not at least active sometimes. Make sure it get's it's shots.
BTW, Beware, week 8 is their "scare" week, i.e. if they are startled by something (a loud noise from a car or something), they tend to be skitish about that thing forever.

Completely normal! Puppies usually sleep 14 hours or better during the day. Same as human babies. =)

Puppies should be with their mom till at least 8 weeks. But he is still a puppy and like babies they sleep alot.

all puppies like to sleep. my dog is 2 years old and she still sleeps most the day. think about when the puppy was still with her mom and all she would have done was sleep. another thing is since he is still so young you may want to try to box train he because they love to sleep in there cage (box).

very normal, and if it would make you feel better take him to the vet to get him checked out, only cost ya about 30 to 40 bucks and then you will know for sure.. Im sure it would help you sleep better at night.. And incase there would be something wrong , then you would catch it before it was too late.

You must not know a lot about puppies.I'll tell you 1 thing,he/she's not sick!Puppies always sleep!

it is normal. puppys and older dogs sleep about 14 hours a day. when he gets older he will be sleeping about 8 hours a day. =)

they do sleep alot, it depends on the personality, but if hos nose is dry hes de hydrated but u knew that so, check his nose and if he was sick he would be sneezing, and may have decrased appitite, but if it gets bad and you get worryed take him to a vet good luck!!!!
