We need a bit more information to really be of assistance here. What are you doing when it freezes, how many add-ons do you have, how many toolbars is installed, how often is it freezing, what else do you have open when it freezes, how many tabs are open when it freezes, what type of system do you have, how much memory-RAM do you have, what processor is installed, the video card, has the freezing occurred from the beginning or did it start at a later date, what sort of active X controls do you have, etc.

Without some of the above information it became very difficult if not impossible to help out. I can tell you that the box to send an error report is for you to decide if you want to send off the error report and the information in contains regarding the freezing episode to Microsoft, who will then compile the information, and come up with a response, or a fix to offer those like you who are having such problems. It is possible there may already be such a fix, if you click to send the report a link will be provided which may contain information on what to do to fix this, and other types of information to attempt to isolate the problem yourself and then fix it. This error report sends some of the above information to the Microsoft Labs, such as processor, and other computer configuration details.

I can also tell you that you can remove IE7 and have IE6 placed back onto your system. Use the Add/Remove applet in Control Panel to remove IE7, when you reboot IE6 will be back installed on your system. At least that was how it worked before the mass downloading of IE7 via the Automatic Updates and I wouldn't think the behavior had changed, as some people just don't want to switch to IE7 yet, and there are those who have problems, like you are, who want to get rid of IE7 and have IE6 back. Why don't you go ahead and remove IE7, reboot and IE6 should be back. If it isn't just redownload and install IE7 again. Heck, just go ahead and go it anyway, as a new instance of IE7 may fix your problem as it may be a bad or currupt file in your version which is causing it to freeze up. I have been using IE7 for a month now and I like it a lot more than IE6. It only took me one day to get use to and come to love all the new features and security.

Good luck and I hope you get this fixed really soon. Write more details so somebody else can offer a bit more help than I was able to. Have a great day!

You might have installed the wrong edition. You might have installed 64bit version, when you need 86, or something like that. Im not sure exactly what it means, but a lot of programs on microsoft are for different options. I suggest uninstalling IE7, and going to microsoft.com to try to figure out what version you need.
