The Samsung one looks great, and is cheaper, but will the Sony Bravia be better, seeing as it has lots of hype and lots of people say that Bravias are the best... But the Samsung has so many more features... But I trust Sony... I'm not sure which one...

I do not know which one is better, but a good place to check is cnet.com. They have many comprehensive reviews, and are very reliable.

I trust Sony more than Samsung because of the reliability. Chances are you won't use the extra features that the Samsung has. The Bravia not only has the best picture in my opinion, it is also supposed to have a 20 year lifespan without repair. That's a huge selling point for me. Also, if you buy a sony home theater, you can use either remote to control the TV and sound.

Samsung and Sony LCD panel come from one factory (S-LCD), but I believe the graphic are much different, since Sony always put something extra (not sure if customer understand and really need it), If you have extra money I recommend Sony, but if its limited that Samsung is your best choice

The first thing to ensure is that the display resolution is 1920 x 1080.
The Sony products are better overall.

The thing with Sony, and this applies to all of their products, is they are most often the best but at a premium. And many times it isn't worth the premium.

I`d seriously get the Samsung in 40" they look so cool, finally we`ve managed to get away from this all silver phase and get the monochromatic black to function properly in a modern home with enough silver or steel finish..... so they do indeed look tastefully modern.
Samsung is the worlds, best selling brand, buy, buy, buy....... I`m getting one, though waiting for the sales (my co- worker bought a 40" unit and it is so clean and class, especially when hanged from the wall). maybe you could advise me in 8 weeks, what you think (still wont make a difference though I want the cool TV!!!!!).

the Sony bravia is by far the market leader for HDTV. it may be dearer but it is well worth that bit extra. there is nothing worse than saving i few quid and always regretting it.
