trying to find out how she feels?

well I am leaving in a bit, but I would want to stay if I know how she feels. I am thinking about asking one of her close friends how she feels via email, but I dont know if its appropiate. We have been going out places and have kissed several times, but we have never talked about our "status." What should I do?
