We live in the south so it's not as cold as everywhere else, in the 50's. She is 4 years old with no other problems. she's been both a outside and in side dog.
We have been keeping her inside since this has started. she has been shivering for @ 1 week subsides after we wrap her up. Diet is ok.
Is there somthing wrong or is it just the change in weather and her winter coat isn't in ?

Yes I have had Peanut since birth 4 years, she is acting normal and I do warm her up with blankets.
She not haveing sezures, fully alert and playful. I feel her nose and is feels normal not hot or cold.

I really don't have the money to take her to the vet but she has never done this before.

If she's shaking it could have nothing to do with the cold. She could be having seizers, you should take her to the vet.

Your dog should not be shivering if the temp is only as low as the 50s and it has a dry place to go for shelter, particularly if it has quite a bit of Lab in it-Lab are bred to gladly retrieve birds from icy water all day long, very cold resistant.
This could be a stress or nervous condition which subsides when she is made to feel secure after you wrap her. Perhaps you have made a recent life-change for your dog such as moving, getting another dog, having a baby, one of owners leaving etc.
I am assuming you have had this dog for some time and that this shivering is new behavior. If you JUST got it from a shelter then it could be ANYTHING, or NOTHING and will subside on it's own.

Try taking her temperature, you can use a human thermometer if you'd like. If it's low, she's chilled. Does she have a warm bed, or blanket to sleep on? I highly doubt it's the change in weather making her shake. Perhaps she got into some poison, or got sick, and has neurological problems. I would say for sure take her in to the vet, sounds like there is something else going on besides the change in weather..... Good luck, I hope she's alright.

Sorry to say sweetie, but take her to the vet. I had a Lab mix and he loved to go outside in the cold - no shivering.

You could have experienced an anxiety attack. They can come out of nowhere. One of your senses was triggered by something. You subconscious took over. They usually don't last long. Usually 2-5 minutes. It is a real scary feeling though. If it continues you need to see a professional that works in the mental health field.

She could be hypothyroid(underactive thyroid)You need to take her to the vet and have a blood test done to tell if this is the problem. It is very common in Labs, and will make them cold-intolerent.It can also cause slow heartbeat, lethargy.weight gain, and skin and coat problems. The thyroid replacement medication is quite inexpensive;I would try to save some money to take her and have her tested before she develops other, more serious problems.

its just like my min pin. although, he is smaller and has a little better reason so be shivering. he's just my lil naked baby. if u have a heating pad, lay it under the dogs favorite blanket (or under the sheets of the bed -thats my dogs favorite place to sleep) or, u can get the dog a sweater. also, u could put a blanket in the dryer for a little while and then wrap the dog up in it. it IS most likely the winter cold, or their winter coat. dont worry, they just have to be a lil naked for a while.

thats odd... only my puppy shivers but i assumed it was because she was small and hasn't got her winter coat on i made her a sweater ...it worked but then i just took it off her because she loves to bite it...so maybe a sweater will help but if your lab is like my lab who is also 4 years old she'll bite it off in no time flat

she should see a vet. most vets, if you tell them ahead of time, will allow some kind of payment plan. unfortunately this could be a multitude of things - and no one should try to diagnose a pet over the phone or internet without being able to check out the animal.
good luck though!
