Michael Richards wasn't talking about illegal immigrants. He was talking about 2 black men, who were most likely born in this country, and have just as much right to be there at the Laugh Factory as anybody else.
I do have to agree with you, though. All we do is complain, yet we don't actually want to do the work that they do. It would be unfathomable to most Americans to pick fruit or veggies for what they make. Yet they do it, and we eat them [the food.] And while illegal immigration is wrong, and so is the governments do-nothing policy, it does solve those immediate problems. It appears we're in a deadlock.

Actually.. I am highly educated and I do not fit in to your classification of "most". Since you asked, I will give you my opinion. I will provide a simple ethical argument even you may understand. An "illegal immigrant" is just that illegal. They should not be rewarded for their unlawful actions by being given food stamps, free medical, housing assistance and schooling. This is taking away from American citizens that may need these services to get through hard times. A good example is the lack of hurricane relief we have provided this last year. The money we are supporting illegals with, could have been spent for people who actually have a dire need and deserve the assistance.
My wife is an immigrant and it took her four years to finally get her citizenship. She did everything to the letter of the law and had no problems. People sneaking across our border and breaking our laws should not be rewarded for doing so. As a good human citizen we should find a way to help them have better lives. Enabling and rewarding them to be criminal is not the help they need. They need help in their own country so they can be with their famly's and friends in their own homeland where they would really rather be if they could.
I would close with this thought. If the illegals who claim to be hard working and taking jobs no one else cares to do, who are brave enough to break our laws. Might they want to consider working as hard and being as brave in their own countries where there efforts would or could make a difference for not just themselves but their other countrymen and countries? Is running from one's problems really the answer?

Disagree
Those uneducated Americans shouldn't have to compete with illegal aliens. They don't even belong here!!!
Why should America be the ONLY country allowing illegal immigrants? Ever notice that other countries(all countries) does not allow illegal immigrants?
Also there are hispanic gangsters coming along with them too.
Looking forward to commit easier crime.
Trying to act smart or better by calling yourself educated?
How humiliating.
This is one of the worst simple minded question I heard.
If I get thumbs down I'll suspect that it's from you.
You're definitely not one of the highly educated.
More like "graduated with poor grades".

I am so glad that some people understand. I would never clean a motel room for $6.25 an hour, but in other countries they only get like $6.25 a DAY!
Most Americans will not accept that position and they one's who do don't work that hard at it.
I am not here to bash the people that are not educated. I am the only one out of my parents and sister that made it past the 9th grade, but you can't help to see that what is being said above is true. Once you live above the lower levels of employment you don't go back. If you are well educated you are not going to bus tables, clean rooms, and pick fruit. You are going to be the restaurant owner, the Hotel manager, and the crop owner. All my family lived on the state because they refused to work. They would not clean rooms and would not serve fast food. So everyone thinks the state pays for illegals? Look at all the drugies on welfare that we pay money out to them for free just to go get their drugs.
