Chlorine is stable in water and if ingested can cause serious to no effects. Serious effects are severe stomach cramps, pain all the way down to the esophagus.
With slight ingestion expect stomach cramping.
Chlorine is all over the body and is essential for living. Table salt (NaCl) contains chlorine.

I did drink some chlorine in a pool (probable with urine in it) and had some stomach cramps.

Chlorine is a gas at normal temperature and pressure so you can't drink it. The result of breathing it is severe lung damage and possible death - it was used as a poison gas in the trenches of W.W.1 and caused terrible results on the soldiers.
