Do you like them? Hate them? Think they are cool or trashy? I was just curious about peoples opinions on this. Thank you very much.

Yeah I have 5 tattoos myself and I love them but a friend is thinking about putting one on her neck and I suggested not too, just because it isn't easy to cover up. So I wanted to see what others had to say. Thank you all so much :)

I LOVE TATTOOS BUT I THINK GETTING ONE ON THE NECK IS JUST TACKY.............ON EVERYONE.

I have a tattoo on the back of my neck and I love it. It didn't hurt any worse then my other ones. I can easily hide it by wearing my hair down or show it off by wearing a pony tail. It is one of my favorite tattoos. I do recommend thinking very hard about what you get tattooed on your neck tho. Make sure it is something you really want and will still enjoy 20 or 30 years from now. The neck is a little harder to cover up then other body parts. Especially if you have short hair. My neck tattoo is a pair of purple wings with the chinese symbols for sweet angel in the middle. It looks good with anything. Whether I am wearing on old pair of jeans and tee or a nice fancy dress.

I have a tattoo that just about covers the back of my neck...I love it, don't regret it for a second, and definitely do not think it's trashy. It shows if I want it to, is hidden if I want it to be.
Edit: I also have a good job in an industry you would not think of as being tattoo friendly. I think it all depends upon how you carry yourself.

it all depends on the tattoo. it is a very serious commitment to make. as it is hard to always wear clothes that cover a tattooed neck if, later in life the job requires. i actually have a lot of friends who have a lot of tattoos but not many of them have neck tattoos.
BUT the friends that do have neck tattoos are very cool and i am impressed by their ability to stand the pain.

Painful, but definitely kick ***! Not trashy unless its a portrait of Garth Brooks or something.
The only bad thing is that ink on your neck will fcuk off a good job in a heartbeat. Hope your friends a professional athlete or wealthy.

They are super painful to get, and they are something that is not easy to hide in a professional setting. Personally, if i got a tattoo, i'd get it somewhere a bit more discrete. Bad places to get tattoos in particular are back of the neck, back of the knees, tops of knees, backs of calves, and elbows. Go for a soft fleshy place!

I think they look 'TRASHY', unattractive and unappealing. If you're thinking of getting a tat, why not get a temporary one, to see if you like it. If you go and get one without really trying a temporary one, and you decide you don't like it, it can't be removed, with a temporary one, they last about three months. I thought about getting one on my breast, so I tried a temporary one, and realised that no, I did NOT want to have a real one. Check out www.tattoos4u.com

Back of the neck is cool, side of the neck is awful (in my opinion).

Painful and not all that attractive--but that's subjective.
Years from now when your neck "falls" it will look like a Salvador Dali painting, so that could be interesting.
