You deep fry a turkey 3 mins per pound then add 5 mins at the end for good measure according to Paula Deen.Check out her recipe at foodnetwork.com. It was on today's show!!

I've used 3.5 minutes per pound once you get the whole bird in the oil. (3.5 minutes x 17 = 59.5 minutes... 60 minutes)

Lowering the bird into the oil can take about 5 minutes since the oil will be roiling when you're lowering it into the fryer. Lower slowly so you don't overflow the pot.

3-4 minutes per each pound....And inject it with Orange juice it taste fabulous. We do that every year and people LOVE it!
