In general, guys don't really like to be asked out. They like the chase. Wait for the guy to ask you out. If he hasn't recognized that you like him, flirt with him. He'll ask you out if he has the same feelings for you - this way, you also don't have to worry about being turned down.

ask him if he would go and do something that you 2 have in common. and if you dont know anything then ask if likes you and if he wants to go out with you.
if you want a true answer fast then talk to him when he is by himselfe.

this is a hard question, i think the best way 2 do it is go up to him and say, " i think i like to get to know you better, you wanna go get some __________ sometime this weak?"
