I am an Atheist. Why do christians hate me? I delivered 12 meals today to the poor - how many of you did so?

Hey don't feel bad, The first Christians hated the Gentiles and one Gentile was so busy helping people and giving alms to the poor that God sent Peter to minister to him while Peter thought this man and his house was unclean and not worth saving and God had to perform a miracle by allowing Cornielous speak in tongues so that Peter and the other judgemental Jews would see that Godd accepted all people.

Today Christians are judgemental in that they do not live the way the should and give the excuse that they are just human and a saved sinner, while judging non Christians for sins that are not as bad as the ones they commit.

People never change, it will alwasy be the same.

Many people cannot separate what they believe from what they see.
I believe in God, and I know a lot of other people who do as well. I also know many who do not.
I also believe that we can spend all our time talking about what we believe, or we can put our beliefs into action. We are what we do.
My guess is that you are a loving, caring, beautiful human being who spends more time acting than putting others down for what they believe. I also believe that others should look at all the tenets of their religion, and not just the ones about witnessing, or spreading the "Word" or whatever.

We are what we do. Talk is cheap. Keep up your good works. I can think of at least 13 people who appreciate you... the 12 you delivered to... and me! ~

Please show specific examples of what you term "Christians Hating You". I am assuming you are throwing out a blanket statement meant to arouse Christians into some kind of a trap where you can say see, I told you so. It is very easy to do on here because there only a very small percentage of people who are true Christians. I would say 10% of all people who claim to be Christian acually live by the word as they should. Therefore, a question like this usually brings crude remarks and hatred. When it does it will be your fault. You are inciting bad behavior.

Why would you think Christians hate you?

They simply see the utter hopelessness of your situation.

Delivering 12 million meals to the poor won't get you into heaven, while a simple act of faith in Christ (like baptism) surely could.

Then, every good work you did would give glory to God and gain for you eternal merit.

Yesterday we handed out food to over 350 people. At an average of 3 people per family that over a thousand people fed. That's not to our glory. That's the Lord's work. None of that effort means a thing regarding our salvation. It is only by the Grace of God through faith in His son Jesus Christ.

Again, that was a commendable effort on your part and I thank you for them.

I don't think christians hate atheists, I'm an atheist and I've found people often seem to think I hate religion which is not the case. In fact I believe its useful to many people, I personally just don't believe it.
