Just about everything above is bunkum. The facts are, Jesus was executed because he was alleged by the Jewish priests to be a revolutionary subversive. The ruling Romans realized this was nonsense, and that the priests were really worried about Jesus's communist message and how this would affect their takings at their synagogues *** banks. So the Roman governor gave the Jews a choice between the execution of Jesus, and a real subversive named Barabbas. The Jews chose Jesus to hang from the pole, the Roman governor washed his hands, and the rest is history.

I some how feel you already know the answer to this question but anyway I'll shoot away. #1 I know you're cool and all that stuff but to refer to Christ as dude is rather disrespectful from my view. Christ understands you just where you are and still loves you He does not stand in judgement over you(yet). Why was He crucified? because you and I needed a Saviour, someone who could save us from the penalty of our sins. He was the only acceptable sacrifice to a Holy God because he had never commit ed a sin. The Bible says there can be no remission of sin without the shedding of blood. His life was not taken, He gave His life willingly for you and me to make us acceptable to God through our faith in Christ. We cannot earn our salvation for it is a free gift of God (God's grace), our part is to have the faith to believe that and accept Christ as our Lord and Saviour. The Bible says "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith and not that of yourselves".If there was any other way to God then Christ would not have had to die on the cross. Jesus words" I am the Way the Truth and the Life , no man cometh unto the Father except by me" rather exclusive I would say. One other quote" neither is there salvation in any other for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby you must be saved" This tells us only through Christ. Hope this helps you.

Okay. The religious leaders at the time were really intimidated by his teachings and thought he was overriding their own teachings... and he was also treading on the toes of the politicians and the tax collectors by talking about these kinds of things. They were worried about a revolt.
But they had no legal leg to stand on, and this is what Pontius Pilate's speech is about where he literally washes his hands of it.
The Bible talks about Jesus being free of sin or wrongdoing, which would have meant that Jesus hadn't done anything wrong, and a Christian would believe that Jesus was the equivalent of a sacrificial offering, like the Jews used to make on a regular basis up until that time, to cleanse or expunge themselves of their sins.
I hope this helps.

As far as I know it was because he was performing miracles and was gaining popularity. He had a huge following and then ruler saw it as a threat to his throne and being a 'king'. Jesus claimed that he was the Son of God and King of All Men, which was misinterpreted by then people as his ambition to own the throne and that he is trying to impersonate as God. Thus, he was crucified as a punishment of 'heresy' and 'threat to King'. But I am not a Hndi and perhaps some Christians will be able to guide you better.

Jesus was crucified so that we could be forgiven of our sins. He shouldn't be referred to as "that dude". You are rude. And the majority of the people that answered this question are too.

The Romans considered him a threat to the empire. Jesus can be considered a communist by todays standards. Think of the Romans as capitalist while Jesus is a communist. Why do capitalists hate communists. Its because they are the opposite of eachother and could skrew eachother over.
