I am curious as to your age. 4 years is a long time. Has he given you everything or is he using you? I'd be expecting a ring and a proposal at this point. It's wonderful to be so generous, but it makes you an easy mark to be used as well. Agree in advance to a spending limit that you both stick to. I'd buy either one nice gift with the limit or small necessary items adding up to the limit. At some point, it's all just 'stuff'. What's more important would be things of significance to the two of you. Like a portrait package where the two of you could get a portrait done together....like in an engagement photo.

An experience.... vacation to a new spot, weekend in a hotel... if he's never done a couples-massage (where you are both in the same room recieving professional massages at the same time).
Its not gonna sit in the closet but for someone who has everything, an experience is something you can't really just buy, its something you will both remember and cherish.

There's a great CD - The Woodnymphs - four short stories about the activities of woodnymphs, whose delight is to find young men in the woods, enchant them, and then play sexy and sensual games with him until they're all satisfied. Then they change his dreams forever, so that to everybody around him he seems to be deep-down happy and he smiles in his sleep. Besides being sexy (but not porn) it's deliciously funny and beautifully read - and it's a great gift for a woman to give a man. You can get it from their website at www.thewoodnymphs.co.uk
and I bet that'll please the two of you. Good luck.

Sometimes it is easier to just go out to a nice restaurant. Some place that you wouldn't normally go. Years down the road the gift is forgotten but he will always remember that top of the line restaurant .

Make him something that has a special connection to your relationship. Buying stuff gets old and expensive and doesn't mean as much.

a "haunted vacation"
stay at a haunted hotel in a famously haunted city or town, and go on a haunted tour.
It will make you "closer" from all the hugging (or hiding from the scary things)
