You should take a notepad and pass it around get everyone to write their favorite memory about the bride and then print them into a book. I did one of these iMemoryBooks last year for my roommate.
I was trying to decide what to give my roommate for his wedding present. After seeing iMemoryBook I came up with a great idea. I convinced Derek and Wendy to write "He said...She said" stories about the way they met and the way they got engaged. Then using iMemoryBook's invitation system I sent invitations to all of his family and friends, in Utah, and all of her family and friends, in California. Then I watched the book grow online. I was amazed at how smoothly this book grew with the iMemoryBook system. Over 70 people got online, viewed and contributed to the book. The final book had over 200 photos, 75 entries(memories), and 100+ pages, iMemoryBook has helped me create something I wouldn't have even imagined possible.

Well first of all is she registered anywhere? Most brides have bridal registries like at Pottery Barn or Bed, Bath, & Beyond for instance. And these are great! You find out where she is registered go to the store and ask a sales associate for a print out of her registry. That will show you everything she has picked out. Also it will show you things that have already been purchased by others. Usually there is a large variety of items from the expensive to the inexpensive and the plus side is it is all stuff she previously picked out so you know she will like it. And better yet if you cannot find anything specific on her registry you want to buy or can afford then get her a gift certificate to one of her stores. They will usually give her a great deal to purchase any remaining items on her registry that her guest haven't purchased. Good Luck!

Go to bed bath and beyond, pretty much anything in there is a good idea, go into the kitchen section or the bed section, i don't think the bath section is a good idea, or you can get her candles and make a cute little set up, there are tons of stuff, i could give you more info but i don't know ur friend and what she is into, sorry to not be much help, but things like household items are good ideas...if you don't have a bed bath and beyond then try linens n' things...good luck

Something on the registry.
Sometimes you can get a gift for $10-15.
If she doesn't have a registry, or all the gifts you can afford are bought by others, get a gift card to Target or Wal-Mart. If she's near your age, she will definitely enjoy shopping for bargins.
Or you can get her a gift card to a restaurant, for her & hubby.
