My stupid cat has taken to chewing the plastic honey bear bottles, and eats as much as he can (the honey) then goes off and sleeps for hours, sometimes all day in one favorite cozy spot.

All felines, including the big cats, have a genetic anomaly that prevents them from tasting sweetness....so he may just like the "thrill" of getting to it through the bear!

It will cause him no harm!

Have a nice thanksgiving!

honey is one of the few sterile foods, so there is not much harm from that end. depending on what kind of honey it is (the regular cheap kind has not 100% honey in it anyway; the really expensive kind has lots of propolis, which is good for us, but probabloy not a good idea for a feline), the answer may differ.
however, that much sugar in general is not good for anyone, especially not cats. I would keep the honey in an inaccessible space.

Most cats will try to eat anything they can sink their teeth into. They do this solely out of curiousity. While giving a cat food that's meant for human consumption isn't a good idea, there shouldn't be any long term harm.

I'd suggest putting the honey somewhere he can't get to it.. You should call the vet and ask if there is any toxicity to cats from eating honey..

YES!! Honey can carry the botulism toxin in it, so it can be risky for cats, that's the same reason you don't give it to babies until they're at least a year old.

It can't be too bad for him, I've heard honey has healing properties in humans, stop him eating it though or he'll get fat.
