My boyfriend and I have decided to bring chanpagne to Thanksgiving at my mom and dads house and I don't have a ton of money to spend on it. Preferably I would like to spend 15 to 20 dollars, but I dont want it to be cheap and nasty.

It depends on what kind of taste you want. Personally, I like my bubbly fruity. In that case nothing fits the budget like a bottle of Martini & Rossi Asti Spumante. You can get it from your local grocery store. Plus you can get two bottles with $30!!! Ballatorre also has a nice taste.

If you like the throat tingling harshness of a brut champagne go with Cook's. Nasty(my opinion), but cheap.

There are a few categories. Depends if you like it dry or not.
Chandon Sparkling Blanc de Noirs -Retails between $13 and $15

Gloria Ferrer Royal Cuvee '97 Retails $24-$28

Mirabelle Brut by Schramsberg Retails $18 to $23

Mumm Napa Blanc de Blanc '01 Retails $16 to $22

and 2 of my favorites Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs '02 and Blanc de Noir '03 Retailing about $26 (these are great if you don't really like too dry-I love everything, but these and the 97 Gloria Ferrer Cuvee are my best bets in your price range)
Have a great time.

I don't know how the prices are where you live but I can find moet white star for about 30 and sometimes piper heidsec is cheap but normally closer to 40 I love the piper but be careful if you serve it to a french person they will be quick to point out it is a german sparkling wine and not champagne. still it beats veuve cliqot in my book.
