I have combination skin, but in the winter my skin is so dry it's flakey and peeling. I have to use acne treatments, which makes it worse. I need a very moisturizing mask that won't cause me to break out. Homemade or in the store, i'll take anything.

p.s. daily scrubbing and exfoliating does hardly anything to help

Use Fullers Earth on your greasy zone. Its an old fashioned remedy but it really deals with the problem greasy areas. You just mix the powder to a thick paste with water, put it where you need it and leave it to dry out (about 20mins). Rinse with warm water and your skin will be much better. Get a moisturiser designed for sensitive skin, and apply it moring and night...;

I have tried EVERYTHING and Arbonne is the only thing that has worked. Proactive is terrible for your skin because it strips it and it is highly chemical. When I started using Proactive I had only a few pimples, then I tried Proactive because I wanted beautiful skin, instead it gave me nasty puss pimples.
I've tried Mary Kay--nothing. Neutrogena--nothing. Clinique--same as Proactive.
Arbonne seriously works! My skin is a lot like yours--combination. I use the Arbonne Intelligence line which is really neat. It uses Nanosphere technology, which is also used in chemotherapy. I know it sounds really weird but it means that the nanospheres directly target a particular area. This means that you don't need tons of different products.
Don't exfoliate your face more than once a week, your skin could be breaking out because it is irritated. When you wash, don't scrub hard. By scrubbing it is irritating the skin, not allowing it to heal.
If you have more questions, please ask me! I wish I had this information 3 years ago when I suffered from severe acne!

First you need to properly exfoliate and then use a light moisturizer appropiate for your skin type. Scrubbing daily makes the situation WORSE because it overstrips your skin and causes the condition you currently have. I highly suggest Proactive. They have a full line that will help you out from the right daily exfoliant to the right moistrizer that will get your skin back on track. If that doesn't work, go see your dermatologist. They can suggest the right products for your skin type.

There is this cream made by Neostrata. It is called Bionic face cream. It contains poly hydroxy acid, which helps build collagen but also helps lift and shed old skin. It ***REALLY*** works!!! You will have to exfoliate 1x a week and really use your sun block because it is always bringing new skin to the surface.

You can go to Neiman Marcus, or look it up on line. TRY

Aveeno makes a great moisturizer for acne prone skin. It is a bit expensive, but it works without causing more acne problems. You can find it in most health and beauty sections where they keep the skin stuff.

I had the same problem until I bought some unrefined shea butter at this African natural store. I just left it overnight and it cleared my acne too even though it felt real greasy.

I think I've seen it in Bath&body although more expensive.

It's worth it, I use it on my knuckles because they get so dry in the winter that they start bleeding.
good luck

I use this neat product, it's kinda "expensive" but it works like sharm.

-> Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture [i use it with spf 15 because here it's hot as hell], but the product is class A+, non-greasy, hypo-allergenic, non-comedogenic (or whoever it is written) and doesn't contain alcohol.

A product that I swear by is "Glaxal Base" cream it moisturizes really well and isn't too greasy. You can find it in almost any pharmacy, it isn't cheap but it is well worth the price.

Try a face lotion.

And if you can't find anything in stores to use on your face.
Make an appointment to meet with a Dermatologist.

try lancome - they do a really good cream for extra dry skin!!

also try to wear full face make-up everyday, it protects your skin, i normally wear a tinted moisturiser for day - and I have really dry skin if I dont look after it, and you would never tell!!

also drink plenty of water - I drink 2 litres a day! keep yourself hydrated
