Most people say 8 weeks. I usually keep mine together until 11-13 weeks, but that is just personal choice, as I want the pups mannered and house-trained and vaccinated before they leave..

This is a trick question that most people don't catch. The age that a puppy goes to it's new home, and the age that it is separated from it's mother are two very different things.
Ideally a puppy should go to it's new home no sooner than the 49th day, and no later than the 70th day. (7-10 weeks) There are specific socialization issues that dictate both dates.
Weaning a puppy should start on the 35th day (5 weeks). At that time the pups should be separated from their mother during the day, and fed a blended mixture of a quality puppy chow and warm water twice during the day. They then should spend the night with their mother. On the 42nd day (6 weeks) they should be separated from their mother permanently, and be placed on a 4 times a day feeding schedule. Note: separated from their mother DOES NOT imply that the puppy's should be separated from each other.

I would say no younger than 8 weeks. Some people will sell puppies already at 6 weeks old, but it is best to wait a minimun of 8 weeks. Most reputable breeders will hold the puppies until 11 weeks of age.

Never before 8 weeks.
I let mine go at 9 unless it seems immature and needs it's mom a little longer. By 12 weeks they are socialized pretty well and can leave.
To the other answer above, puppies start eating dog food at 3 weeks but still drink mom's milk until 7 weeks. There is an entire weaning process that has to take place before the pup is ready to go.

I just had a litter of pups and i going to keep them until i feel they are old enough to be it at 8 weeks or even when they are 3 months old.. i don't care i just want to make sure they will be ok and start off in there new home healthy... but i would say no earlier the 8 weeks..

I think it would depend on the situation you are bringing the puppy into. I have a 12wk old pug I brought home at seven wks., but I bring him to work with me and he has other dogs at home to play with. The biggest problem is separation anxiety and loneliness for a puppy. If you can ensure alot of time with the puppy then I think seven wks.is OK

Our local animal shelter will not adopt a puppy out that is younger than 8 weeks, old enough to be spayed/neutered. The longer the better though if you're not dumping them at the pound and if you are not a professional breeder, spay or neuter your pets!

Typically between 9 and 12 weeks. Sometimes it depends on the breed and the individual puppy.

Some say 8weeks some say when they can eat on their own. I would recomend no sooner than 9-13weeks. This way you have a bit of time to keep an eye on them and make sure they are all eating on their own.
