the house was small and couldnt fit the bedding in which he layed in so it had to out of the roof and on the ground to be close to Jesus,,the thing is Jesus healed Him before He got there cause It was that mans faith that healed Him,,He knew if He could just get to Jesus He would be healed..

the mans friends went to great lengths so jesus could heal the man, this showed the lord that the men had great faith in the lord and knew that he alone could heal him. the man was healed through the FAITH of his friends. the major theme is the importance of faith in the lord. remember there was a great crowd, although many have faith it is an example of how to have more faith and to find your way to jesus sometimes you have to overcome obstacles, the same way the men had to beat the crowd, climb to the roof and lower the man so he could be healed.

Jesus performed miracles and healings while he was on Earth to show what the world will be like when it is once again ruled by a heavenly government, not an earthly one.

It also reflects the genuine love and concern both God and His son, Jesus Christ, feel for mankind.

It has great significance in that it depicts a specific action on one's part, and that is:

Against ALL ODDS --having enough faith, hope and the willingness-- ANYONE, regardless whether you are handicapped or even in your death bed, can and will figure out a way to seek the Healer to get healed or be redeemed...

Peace be with you.

There were many people that were coming to Jesus for healing and many had come to see the miricles. I would imagine that it was crowded and that was the quickest way to get their friend to Jesus rather than to carry him through the crowd pushing and shoving. Just a guess.

His friends were determined to bring him to Jesus so he could be healed and forgiven of sin.

The important thing to realize here is that the cripple made it to the rooftop while being a cripple.

If he could climb up on a roof, did he REALLY need Jesus to heal him?
