okay, i have this friend how says he is in love with me, but i am still in love with my ex, and dont really want to go out with anyone again right now. My friend is very depressed because i dont want him as my bf, i keep telling him i love to be friends, but i cant get him to get over me, but he doesnt even really know me!!!
So how can i help him get over me and get on with his life and be happy again ??? I hate seeing him depressed!!
Should i just be very mean to him?? Should i give it a try despite the fact that i love my ex?? or should i just leave him alone???
please help me????

Don't be mean to him. Tell him the truth about how your heart is still repairing and that you need time. Would he want to be with you when all you can think about is your ex? Ask him that. Pretty soon you would be comparing him to your ex. And that would be unfair to your friend. If he really loves you he won't mind waiting for your heart to mend. Time will only tell if this friend can be that special one. They say, "friends make better lovers". So give yourself some time. Best of luck.

Make it very clear that you are not attracted to him in that way and that if he doesn't stop bothering you about it you will have to stop trying to be friends. Don't "give it a try". You will only hurt him worse when it doesn't work out.
