Well if Texas can't afford a police station in the county then they need to stop whining and get their taxpayers to pay for that. And don't say they can't because the tax payers are paying for the illegals. If you look at the census bureau....there are more un-insured Americans than illegals.

I think that is GREAT. Sounds like they needed the help. Houston seems to be on the ball lately.

.maybe if the army Corps of Engineers can go along the border and with drilling equipment put a 30ft stake in the ground about every two feet they may have a chance, then attach motion detectors to every stake , you may help stop tunnel ling and overland movement, this would go hand in hand with the air surveillance

I can not believe people on here are complaining about some one helping the police enforce our laws. I think it is awesome, and good to see people talking the initiative to help protect our boarders.

Say "NO" to NAFTA.

"The federal government is failing to meet its border control obligations," Hendee says on a Web site for his project, dubbed Eyes on the Border. "In Texas, this has had the effect of putting small numbers of county sheriffs in the position of being the front lines of law enforcement along our part of the Mexican border."

Good for the Houston radio personality,he is a good American.Good for him.I know it will help.I know where Van Horn is and it can get pretty desolate off the highways.

The project will initially provide access to the plane to Carillo's office and Sheriff Arvin West in Hudspeth County, Carillo's western neighbor.
If the project works, surveillance flights likely would be expanded to Jeff Davis and Presidio counties, Carillo and West said.
The sheriffs, who together command fewer than two dozen deputies who patrol a combined 8,800 square miles of prime territory for drug and human smuggling, said they look forward to trying to make the project work.
