I'm involved in a debate re; giving children tastes of alcohol. My sourc in a book, "Under the Influence"; but additional literature and info about the topic would be helpful.

Personally I would not give a child under 12 alcohol.
One serving of spirit could well do a considerable amount of damage to a 18 month old, but a 10 years old would propbably just be drunk and suffer no major ill effects. That is as a one off. Ant child given alcohol regularly would become alcoholic and suffer the same alcohol related illnesses as an alcoholic adult...;

none, my kids loved a little bit now and then. Both grew up to go to gifted schools, graduated with honors.

I have no clue... I just wouldn't do it for the pure fact that that is rediculious!
