Tonsillitis is the most common cause of sore throat. It's an inflammation caused by a viral or bacterial infection. Sign and symptoms include:
* Severe sore throat
* Difficult or painful swallowing
* Headache
* Fever and chills
* Enlarged, tender glands (lymph nodes) in the jaw and neck
* Loss of voice
The most common bacteria to cause sore throats are Streptococcus group A. (strep throat) Go see your doctor if symptoms don't improve in 1-2 days. He might prescribe you an antibiotic to help your body fight the infection.

It very well could be strep and needs to be looked at. There also is a viral thing going around that attacks your throat but, when I had it my spots and bumps were white. Strep can be serious a doctor is definitely in order.

If you have red patches or bumps on your throat and uvula you need to go to the doctor. You can be pretty sure they are going to give you a strep test. You can do your friends a big favor and hang around home until you go to the doctor.

Does it hurt really bad?
like on a scale of one to ten, bad!
It sounds like to me it may just be a small case of strep, or laryngitis! You definitly should see a doctor or just check out your local over the counter meds for strep!
unless it is something that could have been sexually transmitted, but i doubt it.
ne way good luck, it probably isn't anything that serious. But definitly get it checked out and try to drink lots of liquids and water!
OUCH!

It may be strep throat, or you may have a cyst, and if you talk in multiple tones, then it's a vocal fold cyst. I am not a doctor, but a child of two doctors.I strongly suggest you see a doctor.
