Unfortunatley, it is not that out of the ordinary. I still believe it is rude, but the majority of men in the United States seem to think that they need a break after so much time being romantic. I suppose that could be a good sign for some men. That means that they were worn out because they made an effort. For other men though you might need to watch it.

I don't think it's odd.
It is not odd that you ask, though.
He might be busy?
He might be slow?
He might be... married?
Or he might just have heard so many times that you should not call too quickly, you should make yourself a bit scarse to be desirable. Maybe he read that at the haidresser and did not notice it was a girls magazine!
Actually, why should girls do that and not guys?

You don't say how old your partner was. I suspect he was older, in which case, he's probably bragging to friends now. Just enjoy your youth and don't contemplate serious relationships yet. Get a good circle of friends and enjoy time with them. You've plenty of time. Enjoy your life.

Maybe he's busy or something has come up. Why don't you ring him and check that he's okay and then you can find out what he's been up to since you last saw him
