You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

Diet alone is not a good way to lose weight, for a couple reasons.
1.) regular activity causes your heart rate to slow down and increases your metobilism. A higher metabolisim burns fat more efficently.
2.) The yo yo effect, most diets are hard to stick to and most people evantually break them.

If you want to go the diet route make small changes gradually. First keep a food log for one week, eat as ussally do and right down everything you eat and and drink and why you ate it. This might sound silly but you will see your eating habits and where you need improvement. The next week make one small change, if for example you find your are drinking six glasses of pop a day, cut down to two, or if you are late night snacking on junk food switch to veggies. No big changes and one at a time.

Just so you know starches are very fatty, and limiting but NOT excluding them may help. This includes pasta, potatoes and bread.

Excersise does not have to be strenous. Buy a skipping rope and jump while you are watching t.v.. While supper is cooking do some push ups or curl ups.

I am a mother of 2 to, my youngest is 4 months old, make a healthly lifestyle a priority not an option and you can suceed.

Hi Cindy!

Contrary to popular opinion, you don't need to exercise to lose weight. While it does help, just staying active will also do the trick. Take your kids for walks, play with them, take them shopping, etc.

Losing weight requires knowledge and self-discipline. While I can help you with the knowledge, you have to find the self-discipline. The best way to strengthen your will here is to build good habits.

Here are a few ideas to get you started losing body fat.

Keep your calories at 1500 calories per day. Try to spread these out over five meals of about 300 calories each. Get rid of junk food from all your points of presence, e.g. home, office, car, locker, etc. Stay active using the ideas i mentioned earlier. If you do this, you should start to see results within the week.

I believe this answers your question.

If you want more help than this, you can email me.

Good luck on your diet and fitness goals!

1) use small servings... actually measure out half cups, etc... they're smaller than we think.
2) use small plates; many celebrities like Brooke Shields (Ibelieve) for example, use child-sized plates to keep portions small.
3) Using a regular sized plate and serving: if you are likely to eat your servings, and then your children's servings... serve your children from your plate, instead. They'll enjoy the novelty and 'honor' of eating what mom's got, you'll stop eating all the left-overs.
4) increase vegetable to protein/carb ratio. Divide plate into quarters, one quarter carb, one quarter protien, and half (two quarters) vegetables.
5) start getting organic everything... anything organic is easier for your body to process, and make into fuel.
6) read labels; nutritional content not calories.
7) don't let yourself feel deprived; this is the first killer of all diets... sabotage thru rebellion! If you want to eat ice cream, and tell yourself you CAN'T... you probably will... and it's ok. SMALL portions... I eat mine in a tea cup. And it's "Slow Churn", with half the fat, and a third the cals....
