If you're talking about Kurt Godel the mathematician's incompleteness paradox, it's pretty much over my head.

Godel showed that no mathematical system can be complete.
If you look at Godel's proof you can show that the system can ALWAYS be extended to resolve any incompleteness. Not that the extension is always practical.

One argument goes like this.

Godel's proof, no single system can be complete - true

Intelligence can solve things that cant be done mathematically. - True

There for intelligence can not be logical - False.

All the first two means is that we have not yet got a big enough system or enough different mathematical systems, to solve the problems intelligence can solve.

So, from a Christians prespective, are you talking about intelligent design vs old earth creationism? I'm not sure what you're looking for but I believe we should always strive for greater understanding. In the end (when we have all knowledge) science and religion will be in perfect harmony. For now all of these theories are for mortality and useful in that context. The bible explains things in a very simplistic way so we can get the picture. That doesn't mean its wrong. Christianity is faith based, apologetics are amusing, but are nothing to base our faith on.

I'm real excited about the "string theory", as I understand it. That would really tie up some loose ends for me :).

It was used well in one of the original Star Trek episodes - "So if everything you ever say is a lie, and you are saying you are lying, then you are telling the truth, but if you are lying then you can be telling the truth - this is illogical, illogical" then the robot shuts down.

I believe there are some things that we have the ability or knowledge to know. Not all things are subjective like favorite flavors of ice cream...I believe in objective truth and our ability to know.
