I went to the Dr. and both Strep and Mono ruled out through swab and bloodwork. Told it was viral had to just wait it out. Going on 3 weeks now.. and no other cold symptons.. no cough, stuffy nose ect. Already taking avil every day.. I've had enough

Actually, this is normal for some people. Whenever my throat hurts, I would be surprised if it went away in a couple days. It's most likely viral, and you will have to do what the doctor says and wait it out. What I like to do is use those sore throat sprays. They numb it, and then it doesn't hurt after that. You do this around every 2-4 hours as needed.

My son had mono and it didn't show up until about 7 tests were run and it had reached his liver. Go to another doctor. Also get some garlic pills and start taking them with gargling with salt water. These are old school remedies that work.

try eating alot of posicle that helps me and i get them alot i also drink hot choclolate and hot tea make sure u are still using cough drops they make ur throat feel cold to my acountance it should be going away either this week or next i have had one for 4 weeks before but w. a cough it sucked so good luck!

If I were you I would go back to the doctors and let them know that something is wrong and if they need to get in touch with an specialist because there are so many things going around this time of year, I thought my little girl just had an cold and it turned out to be pneumonia, please whatever you do, do take it serious and I hope you get well with God's speed................................

Well I dont know whats up but you should drink tons of flouids and keep a humidifier in your bedroom and I should be a bit better.

go back and get tested to see if its tonsilitis.
i get that usually instead of step.
