okay so im 22- and at 18 years old, i moved to a "party college town" and first started drinking at parties and stuff, and since i couldnt go to the bar (my boyfriend was 24) we started staying home and drinking. well, we are married now- have a 2 year old... and i find i am having a problem, thats the reason i got pregnant, and went to jail for a night, and etc.. and recently we moved to a new town- and i went out w/ these girls, who are around 18- and they ended up having to carry my *** around cause i couldnt walk, and kept hitting my head on stuff, and fell asleep in the bathtub... and they arent talking to me anymore ..... I dont know why i cant stop... i take a few shots, or drinks, and am so impatient, i cant wait for it to "take effect" i just am like " i dont feel anything" so i take more shots, then when i feel okay... i dont remember, but i keep drinking... i cant tell the different "stages" like buzzed, tipsy, etc... its either im sober, or blacked out..i dont know why??

You need to ask yourself "is alcohol becoming a problem?" and from what I am reading the answer is yes."Do I lose control when I drink?" I guess the answer to that question would also be yes.Now you need to ask yourself "am I an alcoholic?" I am not going to answer that for you. I know I was just like you. I drank to get drunk, I loved the feeling. And I to went to the hard stuff because beer would not get me there quick enough. But before I knew it I was in a blackout. They told me in my recoverery program that the booze was just a symtom of my desease. That there was something inside me that I didnt want to feel.So I stayed drunk. You need to look deep inside yourself and find out what you dont want to feel. Then work on it but you cant do it yourself. You need help. Get into a program. Start with A.A. Just go in and sit down in a meeting. They told me to take the cotton out of my ears and put it in my mouth. Just sit there and listen. If you need anybodie I am here at: klinedarlene@yahoo.com anytime. May God be with you on your journey to recoverery!!

The best people to answer your question aren't the people here, check out the AA groups, there is no shame in it.
You've already done the hardest step by admitting to complete strangers that you've got some issues you need to sort out.

Best of luck, don't be ashamed, we all have these hard times in our life.

Because you are an alcoholic. You need help. Go to your nearest hospital and get admitted. Once the booze is out of your body, you can be transferred to a rehab.

If you stop drinking now, your daughter won't ever remember her mother being a falling-down drunk.

It could be that you are allergic to alcohol or that you indeed are impatient. You have to stop drinking like this if you have kids, you have responsiblity now. you arent a teen. You need to get into a treatment program
