Um...for 4;10, that isn't fat...

She is ten and tall...guess what? That is pretty normal. Instead of focusing on her body flaws, why don't you just love her for what she is and tell her how beautiful she is????

If you are concerned about her being fat, which she isn't, I would make the ENTIRE household eat healthier and do more family activities together..that way she doesn't learn that her parents think she is fat. Fat usually treads with ugly. Then, my dear, you are screwed. It takes a long time to shead that blow to the self esteem, I should know.

Hey, it's almost New Years. What a great time to make a resolution to lose weight! I wish you the best of luck in it.

You really have to look at two areas of your life and adjust them to match your goals:

* Diet
* Exercise

You simply can't get around these two facts. You have to consume fewer calories than you burn each day to loose weight. So if you don't change your diet, then you'll have to exercise more. Frankly, it's easier to adjust both things. Eat less, or eat smarter and exercise moderately. You don't have to go overboard. A 20 minute walk around the block is exercise.

Find someone who can share the goal with you. Another overweight friend who will walk with you. That helps a lot. You can encourage each other.

Lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks??

There are some websites on the Internet, which promise you that you are going to lose 10 pounds in every 2 weeks. If you are good in math you will find that keeping these stats in mind, 260 pounds in a year. Losing 260 pounds is the figure, which is unbelievable and unexpected.

This kind of claims are planned just to cause clients to make impulsive decisions. When you gain weight, did you gained around 50 minds in two months? Certainly not. We gain weight in weight in small parts, which add up to our weight. This keeps on increasing with time.

I think you get what I mean to say. We normally gain weight in grams like 65 gram per week. With this stat you are going to gain around 7 pounds at the end of year.

This weight is so slow that you cannot measure it weekly. But in fur years you are going to gain around 28 pounds.

So how can you expect this weight to go in few days? You are going to lose the way you have gained it. So it will take time to lose weight. So you have to start losing weight systematically. You can lose weight by developing the good eating habits in you and nutritious foods.

She's 10? what the heck is a 10 year old doing trying to lose weight..let alone her mother trying to help her? Please seek some help for yourself..not your daughter! She's too young to have to worry about weight loss...if she's overweight..put her on a healthy eating plan and have her play outside but theres no reason for her to lose the weight fast. She's tall for her age anyway...and if she's only 101 pounds then i seriously doubt she's overweight...this is why young girls start out with eating disorders when parents start obsessing over their childs weight at such young ages.

You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

If she is 10 she should not loose weight fast, this could affect the rest of her life physically and psychologically.

At 10 years old she should choose a life style of eating healthy and exercising.
The best person that would help her make that choice is her parents.

If you are serious about losing weight, the calories
in the food you eat should be less than the
energy you use. You will have to increase your
metabolic rate and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will
lose weight faster. More details available at

If she is ten and needs to lose weight you need to talk to your pediatrican about healthy ways for her to lose weight. But exercise and more healthy foods are always a good place to start. And cut out sugary snacks and sodas!

there isn't a fast "healthy" way to lose weight.

just eat right and exercise.

and I think you are setting up your daughter for a lifetime of eating disorders. She's a little kid and she's at a healthy weight. Let her be!
