people are scared of that they do not understand
They would rather someone tell them what they want to hear instead of learning the truth and be shown they are wrong

I have read the Qur'an, and a few books about Islam. I also took a class on Islam at the university. It only covered the very basics though. I'd like to learn a lot more. I think the religion has many good points, but I don't regard it as the one true faith.

Yes, I have read the Quran.
1. It is a holy book Muslims claim was revealed to the Arabian merchant Mohammad by the angel Gabriel, after he went to a mountain to meditate.
2. Islam is a monotheistic religion in the tradition of its earlier counterparts Judaism and Christianity. It is characterized by a strict monotheism, a simple entry rite (the saying of the Shahada), and a works based soteriology founded on the five pillars of Islam. (http://www.islam101.com/dawah/pillars.html)
3. Mohammed is the individual to whom the Quran was purportedly revealed by the angel Gabriel. He is considered by Muslims to be the final prophet of the Abrahamic prophets, and the "seal of the prophets."
4. "Allah" is Arabic for God.
5. To the extent that the Quran agrees with my own religious beliefs, I consider it to have some truth to it.
However, as a Christian absolutely convinced of the message and the person of Jesus, I did not find Islam a tempting religion to join. I find Islam doesn't have a good answer to that age-old question, "What must I do to be saved?" Islam never offers a clear and simple picture of how one gains the friendship of God and admittance to heaven. One of the reasons, I think, that militants in Al Qaeda are able to seduce some impressionable young men is because of this lack of a clear offer of salvation in Islam. Too many religions leave people adrift on the sea of what is in fact religion's principle challenge - how does man meet God?
I believe Jesus offers the answer to the question "What must I do" in a way both simple to understand and yet hard to carry out, with the simple words, "Follow me." I must obey, and it is why I remain a Christian, even after considering the alternatives.
Thank you for asking this thoughtful question.

Yep - i read most of it. The books has very little to do with the religion. Your religion is based on what your mullahs says the book means. These mullahs are men. They interpret it the way they feel best protects men's thin self-confidence. Ex:Your prophet loved his wife so much he prayed his god in his bedroom with her present and wished people would respect his couple's privacy. Translation: separate men and woman from each other and make women wear a curtain on their head. ---- Good going!
Why don't you study your own religion. Not just by listening to what people say the words mean, but by reading it and thinking. Can a god really incite to violence? Be revengeful? Hide women, remove them from society?
If you want to find peace of mind, quit all that nonsense and believe only in good - not god. It feels so much better, I swear!

The more i read the Koran the more stupid islam seems to me. Islamic law was better then no law. Islam belongs in the dark ages. I mean Slavery is a permitted institution according to the Koran. I dont understand why any woman would degrade her self in worshiping a sex hungry pig like mahhomet.

I am against ALL organized religions & I could care less about Islam or any other mis-translated guide books from the ages of long ago. We who are ONE do not need the words of mankind to teach us. Why chance reading & believing in lies of the dead? If you are not connected, then you are lost & it is for the best. Thinking is what gets you trapped in the lies of deception & makes you weak in the spirit .

We know all about Islam...
Muslims (and Islam) say Jesus was a prophet but they reject all His teachings ... That is hypocisy.
They reject Christ's divinity;
they reject his claim to be the Son of God;
they reject his death on the cross...
they reject His ressurrection..
They reject Jesus is the Christ/ Messiah...
Need I say more...?
Don't be deceived. The Islamic god is totally different than the God of Jesus Christ .
"Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-Christ, that denies the Father and the Son. He that denies the Son, the same has not the Father." (I John 2:22)

I'm Muslim. Islam is the religion of ALLAH. Muhammed(PBUH*) is the messenger of ALLAH. The Qur'an is the only true book protected by ALLAH and not changed or altered by human beings. Yes it is true. ALLAH is the ONE & ONLY God who created the entire universe.
