You shower too often. The water leaches the moisture right out of your skin, and now it itches. Suggest if you MUST shower daily, use bath oil in the shower and apply a good lotion after you get out. Eucerin makes a good calming skin lotion.

When I moved to a warmer climate I started having the same problem, really dry skin. Now whenever I get out of the shower, while I am still damp, I use baby oil all over. After about 5 minutes I wipe myself down with a towel and my skin has been incredibly soft since I have been doing this with no side effects and no more itchiness.

I have sensitive skin also and I get itchy if my shower water is too hot or if I take more than one shower a day. My skin is dry most of the time, so I have to use a fragrance-free body lotion at least once a day, twice a day in the winter.

Did you ever think that it might be the soap you use? Or bodywash? Or even the detergent that you wash your clothes in might be the culprit.
Play 'process of elimination' to find out what it could be. I found that if my wife uses liquid fabric softener, I go stir crazy. It took me several months of scratching to figure that one out.
Even question your underarm deodorant and shaving lotion. I don't buy this thing about showering everyday will cause that, unless of course you stay in for extended lengths of time and/or your water is contaminated with too much chlorine or even pollution.
So start searchin' to stop the itchin'.

showering once daily is the minimum, Twice is perfect. Your skin might just be dry. Make sure you get a moisturizer on it after each shower. You can also use bath oil, they penetrate your skin better. Make sure you put some bleach on you cloths to killl any bacteria or gems that might be there.

Use moisturizer everyday. When you get out of the shower, smooth lotion all over your body (nothing sexual intended).
Your skin is probably really dry. Also, use soaps that don't have fragrance and don't lather up a lot - they dry skin, too.

Your skin is too dry. Depending on your climate and what's in your water. Try using a good lotion (eucerin) that is non scented and see if that helps.

It could be the water. There are so many cases people are getting sick/alllergic with the water. The water department is adding a substance (I don't know the name) that some people are getting sick.
