Make yourself a Windows 98 SE boot disk from bootdisk.com

http://bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

(Use OEM one)
.......................................................
Stick boot disk into floppt drive,,reboot,,,

then at the A:\ prompt, type:

SYS C:

"System transferred" message should appear in a moment.

Hit Enter,,then at the A:\ prompt, type:

FDISK /MBR

and hit enter.

Remove Boot Disk and restart PC.

Might get lucky:)

Hope So,,Good Luck!

You can boot using an XP CD and read files that you created on the hard drive, but you cannot run any programs that were installed.

For example, you can copy off documents, but cannot open them in word.

in case you have a CD-ROM or a DVD force in the laptop you ought to have the flexibility to place the XP disk in and load it. Xp will guard the formatting the irritating force and different stuff if mandatory.

many old computers do not support boot from cd.(check the bios)

what you need is the xp boot disk(on 6 floppy disks) maker and a floppy drive

if you have the first version of xp pro disk:
